The Long-Range path-finding tool is one of the features of Battle Command.  It allows you to set a route based on several different parameters with the computer doing the tough work of picking the best possible waypoints.  The brief tutorial attached will cover two specific uses for the tool – moving a unit under cover and moving a convoy or formation quickly from one point to another.
