BATTLE COMMAND Screen-shots ("Battle-of-the-Bulge" GRAPHICS):

The Patton's Counteroffensive scenario involves two armored task forces starting at the south end of the map and clearing a corridor to the encircled units in Bastogne at the north end.  Here is a full-screen shot taken at 2560x1600 screen resolution on a 30-inch monitor.  It may not fit into your display, a 21-inch or larger monitor is recommended to play TALACOSI.  All the screen-shots below were taken at 2560x1600 screen resolution.  Placenames are visible on this map as red text at the top of red and white poles.  This map is an accurate depiction of the terrain south of Bastogne, Belgium, down to 100 square meters, including terrain elevation.

The Southern Bulge Shoulder Map

A wider view of the area around the south end of Bastogne looking south south-east.  A small version of the entire scenario map (10km x 20km) is to the left and shows the locations of all units on the map (U.S.: green, German: red).

Elements of Panzer Lehr Division stand between the American armored forces to the south and Bastogne.

Task Force Odien ("TFO" in the scenario), the tank heavy task force, is going to roll right up that road into Bastogne unless the Panzer Lehr Division and the 15th Panzergrenadier Division  have something to say about it.

Some of the German Infantry units of the 26th Volksgrenadier Division ringing Bastogne.

A better look from the German perspective at the defensive perimeter around Bastogne.  The red text on a unit counter indicates the percentage that unit is "dug-in" in an improved position.

Infantry and artillery units follow the armored spearhead of Task Force Odien on the roads leading to Bastogne.  Conserve enough fuel to fight the Germans and get to Bastogne..

The road networks ahead.  Moving 180 assorted vehicles containing a few thousand men on a contingent route is no easy task.  You will have to be frugal with fuel, position and time your units, keep a reserve at all times, and scout the terrain ahead.  Combat is probably less than half of the work ahead.

The 26th Volksgrenadier Division has a 170mm field gun battery attached capable of shelling any coordinates on the 10km x 20km scenario map (the range is 28km).  However, the battery has a limited supply of 120 rounds on hand.  When and where will these large-caliber rounds be used?
