 MR. JOHN MONAHAN

John Monahan spent eleven years in the US Army as a US Army Transportation Corps officer and an Operations Research and Systems Analyst (ORSA) staff officer. He was Airborne qualified during his time in service. 

John's military experience includes the Transportation Corps Officer Basic and Advanced courses. He was a platoon leader in the 76th Transportation Company (Medium Truck) in West Germany from 1978-1981. There he ran convoys all over Europe including Special Weapons cargos. He was the Installation Transportation Officer at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver. He went from there to Fort Leonard Wood and commanded the 12th Transportation Company (Light-Medium Truck). Which spent as much time as possible deployed, including a convoy to California and Summer long participation in Exercise Celtic Cross at Fort Irwin. He went from there to the ORSA MAC I course. After graduating from the ORSA course at Fort Lee, he was assigned as the Chief, Automation Support Branch, Movement Information Division, 1st Transportation Movement and Control Agency. There he deployed the first PCs to the Movements offices Europe wide, set up a LAN at the HQ and operated a secure WAN in 1988. He left the Army in 1989.  

John then worked for EDS, Sony and other IT jobs. Currently he is a MCSE certified self-employed computer consultant. He lives on a farm in Wisconsin, where he also holds a Jagdschein.

John started gaming in 1964 with Avalon Hill’s Gettysburg. He bought his first PC in 1986 and has been playing computer games ever since. He has also been a beta tester of TacOps.
